Explain your role at the cafe

I like to call myself a sandwich slinger aka kitchen wench. You can usually see/hear me dancing and singing to the kitchen tunes through the big window behind the bar. Sometimes you can even spot me out on the floor serving all you fine folks snacks and yummy beverages.

Describe a fond board game memory

I’ve always played board games with my big brother and my dad. I remember more than a few games of monopoly that ended with me having to create a little makeshift panhandling sign just to get through. We always had an extensive collection of the classics and now that I’m working at the Board Room, I’ve been able to share new classics with my family which is an awesome feeling. I brought them in the cafe over the Christmas holidays and shared Ticket to Ride. My dad and brother loved it so much we played all three versions on offer in the library in one sitting!

What’s the best thing currently coming out of the kitchen?

Tough question! If I had to pick, I’d say the dips. Sometimes I get a craving for the dip sampler that you wouldn’t believe. Other than that, the chocolate bowl is a close runner up – I mean, come on – chocolate.

What do you like best about the customers that frequent the Board Room Game Cafe?

Y’all are great – no really!, I mean it. Our customers are seriously the best. My favourite thing to do is get excited about a new game with customers. Some of our regulars are even responsible for teaching me some new games and sharing recommendations. I just love it.

What do you enjoy doing outside of the cafe/board gaming?

What? I don’t know what you mean. This question is irrelevant – I am always here. Let’s not be crazy. Moving on…

How many games have you added to your collection since starting work at The Board Room and what were they?

Too many? Not enough? I both don’t know and don’t want to know the exact number, but it’s lots. I’ve added a bunch of the modern classics to my collection like Pandemic, Ticket to Ride Europe, and Carcassonne. Plus a few more that I just fell in love with like Takenoko, Betrayal at House on the Hill, Gloom, Star Realms, Risk: Legacy, Hey! That’s my Fish!, Timeline, and Love Letter.
